Keds is an American footwear brand established by US Rubber in 1916. Featuring its signature canvas top sneakers, Keds was the first brand to coin the word “sneakers” to its footwear, attributed by its rubber “noiseless” rubber soles, hence the term. Keds shoes were initially named “Peds”, a word which derived from the Latin word for foot. But the name has been trademarked by another company so the name Keds was chosen instead.

You’re not necessarily going to some fancy event that needs you in order to squeeze into a set of heels. Sometimes slip-ons are a tad too casual with regard to where you are going.
